This is the Death Battle Wiki Community Blogs, sometimes referred to as the random prediction blogs.
Here, members of the DB Fandom make and share their own blogs, and we have a big blog every month (hopefully)
Vash the Stampede VS Vincent Valentine (Trigun VS Final Fantasy VII)
Vash the Stampede, Trigun's drifting gunslinger, more known as the infamous Humanoid Typhoon.
Vincent Valentine, Final Fantasy's loner marksman, and sometimes known as the Dirge of Cerberus.
Both are not what they seem. Their pasts are clouded, and it's pretty obvious that we're trying to run away and escape from all our problems. But that isn't the right way to go, especially when you've got new allies by your side, ones that you stick with, and more importantly, stick with you through all those hardships. Eventually, there's nowhere to go but forward, but to do that you have to come to terms with your past mistakes and use them to make yourself stronger.
Now, let's see, who will come out on top? Will the Humanoid Typhoon with a $$60 billion bounty move on to see another day, or will the Monster of Chaos rampage through and mark the end of his campaign? IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER RANDOM PREDICTION BLOG!!!!
(that is SO corny wth)
Before we Begin...
Aint no way, ANOTHER BLOG!!!! Now we're talking.
To be honest, I've been a huge fan of Final Fantasy VII since a while back, but I also watched Trigun recently, and upon finding out this existed, I practically bounded at the chance to make a blog for this. I am GENUINELY excited for this blog this time.
Anyways, we'll be covering the Trigun anime and manga, as well as the movie Badlands Rumble and the Stampede miniseries, and Final Fantasy VII games, Like the Original, Dirge of Cerberus, Remake and Rebirth, Advent Children, etc.
Also, BIG NOTE before we begin. We understand this conflicts with Vash's ideology of Love & Peace, so... unfortunately... we're going to have to give him a character assassination and say he kills for this battle, because we've seen that he HAS that potential to kill.
So yeah, thanks for reading this. We'll be again, using VSBattles wiki for things like calcs and scaling, and possibly even more.
I'm gonna say right now, this is my favorite blog to work on.
Oh, and I collaborated with g (or alternatively generally known as Ricu and known as Reasonable_Rock2967 on Reddit), who has made his own megapost for this matchup before, and I can consider him the biggest fan of this MU that I have met. He made a lot of cool visuals, and you've probably seen them before, so uh.

Worst womanizer ever
In the desertic planet of No Man's Land (or Gunsmoke), legends are told about a man with unmatched gunslinging skills that brings destruction everywhere he goes. With an absurdly huge 60.000.000.000$$ bounty, he's wanted by all the population of this wasteland. He's the First Natural Disaster, the Humanoid Typhoon, he's... Vash The Stampede! According to everyone, this tall and blond outlaw with a very, VERY swag red coat destroys cities and ruins lives daily, deriving only twisted pleasure from his crimes against humanity...
...and once you meet him he's the exact opposite of what he's described to be. You'd imagine Vash to be ruthless and cold, but no, he a silly Cassanova who always eats donuts, laughs and cries like a dumbass, and gets beat up every second by basically anyone. It just happens that, everytime Vash is somewhere fighting and running from whoever tries to hunt him down, something gets destroyed and everyone blames him. Vash himself doesn't even utilize his gun that much, as it's revealed he actually hates violence, and nothing matters more than the preservation of life to him. He described himself as a hunter of love, as he wanted to spread LOVE & PEACE to this land, all while keeping that goofy smile on his face and doing jokes. During his adventures, he met some friends, like Milly Thompson and Meryl Strife, two insurance agents from the Bernardelli company sent to keep an eye on him, and how can we forget Nicholas D.Wolfwood, the priest with that BIG ASS CROSS GUN! Vash often travels with them, but he's mostly a lonely wanderer. From there, the adventures were all fun and runnin' and gunnin'... until he was attacked by a certain Legato Bluesummers, leader of the Gun-Ho-Guns killer squad, at the service of someone that Vash knew well... his twin brother Million Knives... and it's from here, that we discover all the truth about this walking disaster.
Turns out, Vash ain't exactly a human, but a Plant (no, not those that you have to water everyday). Plants are basically artificially made human battery that gives energy to humans. Yeah, that's because 100 years ago, humanity doomed themselves and made their home planet Earth perish because of pollution. Fortunately, some humans survived, and created some spaceships under the name of Project SEEDS to find a new habitable planet to live on. Vash was created in one of those spaceships, alongside his twin brother Knives, and the two little plants were soon going to be raised by Rem Savarem, their surrogate mother. Rem teached them the importance of life, and the nature of pacifism... but while Vash loved Rem, Knives did not. He was angry about the fact that humans horrifically abused of Plants, therefore he sabotaged the fleet of ships that the remaining humans were living on, forcing everyone to land on Gunsmoke. Vash and Knives fortunately survived... but it was because Rem had sacrificed herself to make the two Plants and the rest of humanity land safely into the desertic planet. Once Vash and Knives landed, they traveled the planet together, watching how the humans built the main seven cities and abused Plants even more. Eventually, because of their different ideologies, Vash ran away from Knives after the latter... tore off the former's arm. Years later, Vash met Knives again in July, who activated his dormant Plant powers to them make him destroy the whole city in a big blast, killing more than 200.000 people involuntarily (unless you've watched the anime, which everyone somehow survived the blast to die out after). And that's how Vash became The Humanoid Typhoon. But despite his power and skill with firearms, he vowed that he'll wonder the planet to spread what his dead mother Rem believed in, the desire of a world where people didn't have to steal, kill or hate each other.
But this unwillingness to kill people will cause everyone to treat him like shit, making his life a living hell. Infact the PAINFUL scars he got really say a lot about what he went trough. But the scars weren't only physical, they were especially mental, because of Knives, Legato and his Gun-Ho-Guns group. They all tried to push Vash's no kill rule to it's extreme, giving him internal conflicts about his ideals, trying to break his willpower and make him finally pull the trigger to take a life... which he eventually did. Right after his good friend Wolfwood died, who tried to live as a pacifist like our Humanoid Typhoon, Vash was eventually forced to kill Legato, which sent him into depression, having a deep emotional turmoil that made him question the way he choose to live his own life. But thanks to the support from the friends he made and saved along the way, Vash got finally his will back, and went to find Knives to beat him once and for all, which he eventually did! But still... he did not kill him. In their final battle, both Plants were left out of energy, and Knives ultimately decided to save Vash by giving all of his energy, dying in the process, because in the end, he still deep down loved Vash as a brother. And now, Vash will keep living without his powers, as just a human... but maybe it's better like this, because... you could say that his adventure has shown how the ticket to the future is always blank... He fixed his problems with Knives peacefully, and now, he can keep travelling the world, spreading... LOVE & PEACE!

does a backflip when waking up
The Planet Gaia, run by the Shinra World Electric Company, was dying. All because of the aftermentioned company, that was sucking up the planet's energy known as Lifestream through various reactors to create crystalized Mako spheres known as Materia. Luckily though, a group called AVALANCHE, was formed to fight off Shinra, and also their former strongest soldier became god-hood seeking villain Sephiroth, who wanted to destroy the planet by summoning a meteor (not really), as he discovered the truth about his creation. The members of AVALANCHE basically all had their lives ruined by Shinra, but only one of them was actually part of said company in the first place, the gunman with a very, VERY swag red coat that has seen it all: Vincent Valentine!
Initially, nothing about this man is really known. Cloud Strife and his friends found and met Vincent in the Shinra's Manor's basement in Niebelheilm after getting the keys from a safe opened thanks to a code and killing a big weird monster, who was sleeping inside a coffin. But when Cloud and Vincent started talking, and the latter ultimately was convinced to join the group at the mention that they will go kill a certain Professor Hojo, his past starts to get a little bit foreshadowed. Joining Cloud's group, Vincent went on various adventures with his new allies, until, once they reached a cave through a submarine, Vincent met again with someone he knew well, Lucrecia Crescent. This is where we can see Vincent's past...
30 years before the events of the main story, Vincent worked as part of the Turks, elite high-ranking agents tasked with protecting Shinra´s most important figures, and also supervising projects. Vincent supervised the JENOVA Project in Niebelheilm, with him having to protect the heads of Shinra´s science division: Professor Hojo and Professor Lucrecia, the woman who Vincent fell in love with. But apparently, despite reciprocating Vincent's feelings, the scientist was already married to Hojo (ugly ass mf), and even put pregnant by him, to then experiment on the fetus by injecting Jenova's DNA in it, which caused her to get sick. Vincent opposed to all of this, to which Hojo responded by shooting the Turk in the chest, to then experiment on his half-dead body, giving him the power of metamorphosis. To save Vincent though, Lucrecia infused on him Chaos-tainted Mako, which made him become the vessel of Chaos, basically the Satan of Final Fantasy, and the Protomateria, made to control the before-mentioned demonic entity. A year later, when Vincent woke up from the experiment recovered, he discovered how Lucrecia supposedly died right after she gave birth to her son: Sephiroth, so, as a punishment to not have been able to save her loved one, the ex-Turk gave up on his life and locked himself in the Shinra Manor's coffin. But when 20 years later he was found by Cloud, he decided to participate his group only to get his revenge on Hojo, and stop Sephiroth from destroying the world.
As Vincent managed to talk again with his beloved Lucrecia in that cave, not only he received the forgiveness he long searched for his sins of not having been capable of protecting her, which caused the birth of a monster that destroyed Nibelheilm and will soon destroy the world, but also got a better control of the demon inside of him. And with that, he not only aided in the defeat of Sephiroth and the extermination of the Geostigma, his memetic legacy, but also managed to take down Shinra and kill Hojo, not once, but TWICE when he tried to return with his own Deepground squad, and also wake up Omega, a giant world-destroying mech and old acquaintance of Chaos, who the latter helped Vincent beat said mech. So, beware, if you are a threat to Gaia, Vincent will more than certainly unleash his power... of CHAOS.
Experience and Skill Marksmanship
Vash
Don't let his goofy personality fool you at first. Vash is a expert marksman... no, "expert" is REDUCTIVE. He's been evading bounty hunters for a century, which includes people who can just read your movements and predict what you can do, and can do a lot of cool stuff with his gun. As shown above, he can shoot a rock so precisely, it's fragments destroy a swarm of missiles, but there are other feat's he's done. He's also been easily able to see through the illusion created by invisible wire spread throughout 10 km. He's able to physically count the amount of bullets shot by his opponent, deducing their current ammunition remaining, and was once subjected to literal sensory paralysis, and instantly figured how to counteract it. Bro's accuracy is dead-on, being able to shoot thousands of bullets and never miss, to the point of being able to shoot bullets through the SAME BULLET HOLE. He can block omnidirectional attacks, shoot missiles out of the sky, blow off the fuses off dynamite before they can touch the ground, fight while his eyes are closed, and still dodge attacks from people faster than him, and can fire four shots so fast, it sounded like one... God, nerf Vash. Who needs autoaim when you have this motherfucker?
Vincent
Vincent ain't just a edgelord with a gun, he actually has CRAZY gunslinging abilities, despite sealing himself in a coffin for 30 years. As a former-Turk, Vincent trained to receive advanced skills in espionage, close combat and obviously marksmanship, which as shown in the third-person shooter (and totally the fan favourite game of the franchise fr fr (it's hated)) Dirge Of Cerberus, Vincent uses for doing some crazy stuff like take down helicopters by shooting them from hundreds of meters (even while
he's upside down), shot precisely at volatiles, missiles and soldiers on
really fast vehicles, kill dozens of Deepground assassins easily, who are stronger than the original SOLDIERS, and much more stuff he shows with not only his main gun, but many different firearms, as he has complete mastery of those. But the game where Vincent technically showed the max of his skill is in the OG Final Fantasy VII game, where not only he held his own with some of the most powerful warriors of the planet like Cloud and especially Sephiroth, the same one that can create illusions, but when you maximize his stats, Vincent's aim accuracy becomes of a whopping... 250% WHAT?!?! In short, this just means he never misses, even with status effects. It's so impressive, it puts the concept of aimbot to shame lmfao.
Equipment and Arsenal
Vash
Machine-Gun Arm
After his old left arm got... shot off by Knives... Vash got a new cybernetic arm, which he usually hides underneath cloth. Initially a powerful pistol, it was then upgraded to become a literal machine gun with unlimited ammo, but it has some recoil to it, so Vash has to hold himself in place sometimes.
AGL Arms .45 Long Colt
Vash's signature choice of weapon, more commonly known (in the verse) as the AGL Arms .45 Long Colt. In the anime, it was uniquely built by Knives to trigger Vash's Angel Arm, along with his own, so Vash kind of just has on of these on him now. Holding 6 rounds, you'd never think it was so dangerous after Vash wielded it. It's been stated to be small and puny, but also stated to pack some firepower for a light gun, and Vash really does prove that when he uses it.
The "Cross" Punisher
Belonging to members of the Eye of Micheal, this was once Wolfwood's signature weapon, until he passed away. In the front there is a machine gun, and in the back, there's a rocket launcher. These bullets are strong enough to hurt the likes of Knives in the anime. It also contains 8 pistols on it's sides, 4 each side. It's been stated to be heavy, according to Wolfwood, "being full of mercy" and Vash himself says he doesn't want to lift the heavy object, although given his superhuman strength, it's implied he's not struggling to lift the Punisher, but rather the weight of Wolfwood's death.
It's a knife. in a boot. what am i supposed to say? It can puncture tires and easily cut through strong rope. Nothing really fancy.
Angel Arm
The Angel Arm is one of the pinnacle of Plant abilities, usually depicted as a enormous cannon with angel wings, strong enough to blow holes in the moon. Vash is actually quite afraid of using this after the July Incident, in which Knives forced him to use it to annihilate the city (and ironically Knives himself, looks like he didn't plan that out.)
If black holes didn't sound enough bullshit to you, Vash can also shoot FUCKING SUBSPACES! But these aren't really lethal, the opposite really, but they are still really useful, because they can forcefully send you in another dimension. He showed to use this type of bullet when he had to nullify a baby plant who's birth would have caused a BIG BANG! He deadass just said "YOINK" to the creation of the universe... lmao.
Vincent
Items
As every respectable JRPG, Vincent and the rest of the characters part of the playable characters group can use various items gatherable in game, wherether are for making your own conditions better or to use them in battle:
Various Potions: Restores Vincent’s HP.
Various Ethers: Same with MP
Elixir: Fully restores both HP and MP
Hyper: Grants Fury, which makes the Limit Break bar grow faster
Molotov & Fire Veil: You set your enemies on fire.
T/S Bomb: Casts Demi2
Swift Bolt, Dragon Fang: Casts Lightning
Stardust: MAKE EM RAIINN!!! (comets)
Grenade: edanerG.
Vampire Fang: Drains your opp's HP
Ghost Hand: Same with MP
Kiss of Death: 69% (nice) probabilty of insta-kill
Impaler: Turns the opp into a frog (then why the fuck it's called Impaler)
Shrivel: Makes you smol
Hourglass: It stops your opponent
Loco Weed: Smooke weed everyday da da da da ooh why i feel dizzy
Materia
The Materia is product of the Lifestream, the energy the runs troughout all the planet of Gaia... which is causing the planet to die but, eh, i explained that before. These things let the user call upon the knowledge of the Cetra, the OGs of Gaia basically. Materia can either be made artificially, or just be found at a store, and basically everyone can use it, especially if you have slots in your weapon for it. There are different types.
Green Materia: Gives the user the ability of harnessing the magic aspect of the Lifestream (more on that later)
Summon Materia: My favourite type of Materia, it lets you summon a huge variety of monsters to help you in battle (again, more on that later)
Command Materia: You know how you usually start with only three commands: Attack, Magic and Item? This materia lets you have more commands, letting you do a lot of more stuff:
HP-MP Absorb: you'll never guess what this does...
Independent Materia: Same as Support but don't need to be linked. It gives nothing special though, just other stat buffs.
Various Fire Arms
I already said before that Vincent's time as a turk gave him the opportunity to train with firearms and master them all, right? Well, infact, when we use Vincent in the gameplay, we see how many different guns bro has. Some of this weapons appear again in Dirge Of Cerberus. He has normal pistols, rifles, shotguns, snipers, long barrels, and the Death Penal- HEY THAT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE, IT SHOULD BE COVERED FOR LAST!
Golden Gauntlet
Vincent's drip doesn't only focus on his swag red cape, but also his Gauntlet claw thing. It's useful to fight up-close and personal, and it hurts!
Cerberus
Oh here we have it, Vincent's real deal, the gun he's the Dirge of: Cerberus (say that again). Inspired by the dog god with three heads, it's a triple-barreled handgun, and also what replaced the original
Quicksilver pistol since the Advent Children movie. Decorated with scroll designs, it can fire three
bullets simultaneously from its six-round cylinder, kind of making it... a TRIGUN! Coincidence? I think not! And you see the chain below the pistol? That chain has slots for Materia, letting Vincent use it with greater effect thanks to his weapon.
Coat
Vincent's cape isn't just for fashion and for looking very swag, but
also seems to act on it's own, like the time he used it to save Cloud and take him away from some enemies who were kicking his ass. And he also let's him (kind of) fly... aura.
Griffon
The weapon i sometimes misread as "Griffin" lmao. This machine gun, while one of the weakest weapons in Vincent's arsenal, has so much speed that it basically makes up for the weak part of the weapon.
Hydra
The Hydra sniper, is also a good weapon, but one of the most lethal firearms. It's heavy, but it packs a punch, it's slow, but it's damn accurate, alongside having the best range. Useful also to conserve ammo.
Ribbon
In his right forearm, Vincent has this Ribbon, as a tribute to the dead Aerith. It's useless as an armor, but it protects you from every status effect in the games. And there are A LOT of those: Sleep, Poison, Sadness, Fury,
Confusion, Silence, Frog, Mini, Slow- Numb, Petrify, Death Sentence,
Berserk, Paralysis, and Darkness.
Protomateria
During Lucrecia's experiments on Chaos, Vincent's father, Grimoire Valentine, found this rare unique materia, with proprieties that quite resemble anti-matter. Put in his heart by Lucrecia, Vincent uses the Protomateria to have control over Chaos to prevent him to run on a rampage. One of Deepground Soldiers, Rosso, managed to extract it from Vincent's chest, but he then got it later, to then kick Omega Weapon's ass.
Death Penalty
Oh, finally, i can talk about it. When Vincent goes Chaos, he also can summon his ultimate weapon: The Death Penalty. In the original Final Fantasy VII game, it was only a really Long Colt revolving rifle that you could get in Lucrecia's cave, and that becomes stronger the more you kill enemies in the game, to the point you can come to one-hit kill everyone. But in Dirge of Cerberus? It doesn't have just 3 barrels, but 5, and it fires lasers! It also absorbs his victims'
souls, aligning with its effect in the original game, even if in DoC it doesn't really let you one-shot enemies.
Abilities
Vash
Plant Physiology
Vash is a Plant, an advanced form of sentient, immortal and inter-dimensional life... who's full extent of their abilities are unknown to mankind, despite themselves being the creators of these lifeforms... somehow. Plants are divided into two categories, Non-Dependent Plants and Independent plants. You remember how i said that the Plants purpose is to provide energy and life? Most of these are non-independent, without conciousness, and are contained in big light-bulb like structures. Meanwhile, the Independent Plants have free will and can do what they want, and are obviously much stronger than the Non-Dependent ones, and Vash is specifically a Independent plant.
Oh and Plant Physiology let's Vash do some crazy stuff too, like:
Genius Intelligence
I just called it that idk
Even though he appears dumb and goofy on the outside, he's a unmatched gunman if he wanted to, being able to perform a significant amount of calculations in the timespan the Big Bang was being made (um... yes), as shown above. This is also considering his ability to comprehend things that normal humans cannot, since he's a Plant. He can also remember things like names and memories from hundreds of years ago.
Vash can utilize his Angel Arm to make giant forcefields (see above), which can block physical attacks, or even those of Angel Arms, which as we've covered below, can erase things from existence.
Because of Hojo's experiments on his half-dead body, Vinnie here has gained some nifty new powers, like superhuman physical characteristics, natural regeneration, the capability to transform into various beasts (which we will talk about later). and immortality (meaning he lives forever naturally), all stemming from the Protomateria, Chaos Gene and Jenova Cells inside his body. Too bad he sees this new body of his the punishment for not having saved Lucrecia.
Magic
The Cetras used Magic in the distant
past, which lets you use the power of the lifetstream for powerful attacks and doing some cool stuff, also thanks to Materia. There's is also the Master Magic Materia, which directly lets you use EVERY spell in the game. The more you level up, the more these Materia also level, so you can use even stronger versions of the attacks.
Thanks to the Enemy Skill Command Materia, you make your Enemies have a Skill Issue, cuz you steal their abilities! Well, not steal, more like learn, but i really wanted to include "skill issue" to "enemy skill". You can't steal techniques from everyone, infact how this Materia works is weird, but whatever.
Mythological beasts that you can call thanks to the Summon Materia. They either bring the opponent into their own pocketdimension, or they directly fight alongside you. There's also Master Summon Materia that lets you have them all, infact, let's see these summons.
Like all the playable characters, Vincent can permanently destroy pieces of Jenova, which can regenerate from single cells and survive as long as her
cells remain, but despite that they... don't... as they are gone for good, and can't even be used for the Reunion for the rebuild of Jenova's body. And through those cells Jenova can also her will, even though other
people injected with them. Oh and also, he can kill ghosts and specters, such as Nero's duplicates made of tainted lifestream.
Law Manipulation
Yep, now we start to mention some things inside the Dissidia elephant in the room. Apparently, every playable character with a strong enough will, can overwrite and theoretically bend the laws of physics. Well, magic in itself was stated to rewritethe whole natural order of things, same thing that Vincent uses.
As a Independent Plant, Vash can harness his plant powers to morph and shapeshift his body to grow Angel Arms, wings, and all that crap we have already discussed about before.
Vincent
LIMIT BREAKS
(i still did not get Chaos bruh) - g
One of the most iconic things about Final Fantasy as a whole: Limit Breaks. In FFVII, those are usually REALLY powerful attacks that the user unleashes by channeling their spirit energy, and when their anger is pushed to their... limit... hehe... The least powerful Limit Break can increase one's power by at least 3 times over, and it can really allow you to catch up to previously stronger opponents. but Vincent's Limit Breaks aren't attacks, but transformations, because of the experiments Hojo did on him. These transformations don't let Vincent only use new attacks, but also increase his maximum HP and MP. Let's see 'em.
Galian Beast
Our first Limit Break is the feral, bipedal Galian Beast, the only non-Chaos Limit Break that our boy Vincent has shown to consistently use, in both Rebirth and DoC. With Berserker Dance, he just attacks you brutally, and with Beast Flare, he causes massive flaming explosions with a roar!
Death Gigas
The second transformation Vincent has is this hulking Frankenstein monster looking type creature. With this form, he can use the devastating Gigadunk punch, or the fatally electric Livewire surge.
Looks like a bum no offense
Hellmasker
The third transformation is a cruffy, mad chainsaw man (say that again), and also a Leatherface looking appearance. With him, Vincent can slice and dice his enemies to bits with Splattercombo (yes that's a thing), or use Nightmare, which fitting enough, it's a weird mist that gives you one of these effects: Sleep, Poison, Silence, Frog, Confuse, and Mini.
Chaos
Vincent's final Limit Break and his most powerful
transformation, Final Fantasy's Satan basically. Well, he ain't just a form actually, but was one of the Weapons created by the
Planet, whose mission is to end all life, so Omega can harvest it and
take off to a different planet to preserve the Lifestream, but we all know what did really happen, Vincent controlled Chaos and defeated Omega. Anyways, our infernal pal here is a winged
demonic creature that can fly, has boosted stats, and has energy that protects him. And with this form, Vincent can summon the Death Penalty, which we have talked about before. ncreased speed and power and emits
crimson energy that protects him from most attacks. In the original Final Fantasy VII games, where he just looked like a big flying demon, he had attacks like the Chaos Saber, where he slices you with invisible blades of energy, and then the Satan Slam, where a demonic face erupts from the ground and fucks you up.
Feats
Vash
Overall
Evaded bounty hunters for decades
Became the man with the 60.000.000.000$$ bounty
Got Meryl Strife and Milly Thompson searching after him for months
Defeated Millions Knives, Legato Bluesummers, the Gun-Ho-Guns
Best friends with Nicholas D. Wolfwood :) (he dead oop)
LOVE AND PEACE!!! (W mentality)
Evaded a entire town's attempts to catch him for 4 hours straight while hardly breaking a sweat
Really really really really funny guy
Actually pulled a baddie for once in Episode 2 (but he doesn't know rip)
Well... Vash actually doesn't like... really have any fatal points to be honest (limited ammo wiz)? I mean, aside from obviously the limits he puts on himself because he's a pacifist, the only real weakness he has is that his energy isn't limitless, and the more he uses it reduces his lifespan, which you can tell by his darkening hair, but aside from that? That's really it. His normally pacifist nature also causes him to generally get his ass beat often, but otherwise that's fine.
Vincent
About Vincent, he himself doesn't have noticable weak points either, but his weaponry kind of does. Aside from the obvious bullets quantity limit, Materia is... kind of a double edged sword. It raises some stats, but decreases others, and magic spells don't always land, they have been shown to be interruptable, key example being the Remake games.
One Last Thing(s)...
Vash
What the actual FUCK are Plants COOKING??? (aka, are plants really 5D?)
Knives also returns in the Stargaze trailer with a black streak he does not have in Stampede, implied he could have survived and regenerated. In episode 3, Knives is revealed to have survived... as his brain being kept alive... yeah... but ARK KNIVES POWER BOOST!!!! (see below)
Well, since it's his highest argument... we'll include it as a high end?
where does knives UPSCALE?
So towards the end of Trigun Maximum, Knives does some funny merging with Plants all across Noman's Land, absorbing most of the Plants on the planet and taking them on the Ark, before kinda merging with the Ark as a sentient organism under his control and yada yada, but the point is that it makes him immensely stronger than before. It should be clear cut that this allows him to upscale Lost Plant's Big Bang feat, as that was one Plant and Ark Knives is multiple technically.
So one thing we have to get out of the way first. How many plants did he merge with? Well, he merged with supposedly most Dependent Plants on the planet, and there are hundreds, maybe even thousands, powering that many towns and cities. We are given a timeframe of eight months, so that's plenty of time.
So borderline assuming that, Ark Knives would scale to hundreds to possibly thousands of times Universal. However, there's more.
In Chapter 95 of Maximum, it's described that when two plants merge, their power increases by a thousandfold. Considering it says, "both" and "one another" it could be referring to just two plants merging. Taking our previous estimate of "hundreds, possibly thousands" and Ark Knives would be hundreds of thousands, possibly... millions (say that again) of times Universal.
Now, there's still one more thing we have to discuss.
When Knives merges with the plants, Elendira states that he has "reached a new dimension of existence". It doesn't sound like complete hyperbole, but that's up to interpretation, and it's really iffy since it also does sound like hyperbole.
So yeah, we'll just leave the middle end of him being a hundred thousand times stronger at worst as the end we'll be using here.
Vincent
I hate my pocket dimensions
A pretty recurring thing you might see throughout the game, especially with Summons, is that the fact they usually have starry skies during the animation.
So yes, starry skies are real. That was suprisingly easy to explain.
Dissidia for dummies
So uh, in a really short version, Dissidia Final Fantasy is where Vincent gets scaling to almost every other Final Fantasy game, and where he just generally gets his really high scaling in general.
First, let me explain the Multiversal+ stuff thanks to this blog.
Yeah, so in short, you can achieve Multiversal+ levels of power for Vincent through Dissidia, as people like Cloud and Sephy are in the game, and is even a playable character in that one Dissidia mobile game too.
Yes. Though its through some funny chainscaling so
The ORIGINAL Chaos appears as a event boss fight, and the same himself appears in Dissidia, after all. Or that's the general gist of it. So arguably, you can scale Vincent through Dissidia from Multiversal+ to 5D using per say arguments.
Verdict
Cue Red Lead Redemption, folks.
Brandon Yates my goat
Alright, the combatants are set, we've run the data through all possibilities, and now we'll settle this debate!
For this, we'll be considering 6 categories. Power, Abilities, Endurance, Skill, OHKOs, and Speed.
Prepare yourselves for the biggest, baddest, cowboy gunslinging duel you've seen. This one gets wild.
Power
Main Canon
Now then, for their main keys, discluding other material besides their general original canon, so nothing like Dissidia or Stampede. Both have scaling on par or somewhat higher than beings that can wipe out whole universes, as shown with the Plant's Big Bang and the Knights of the Round. (yes lost plant just takes place 60 years after maximum its canon).
However, Vincent's limit breaks like Chaos should generally multiply his power to a extent far beyond the normal universal tier, leaving Vash in the dust and giving him the win here... right?
Well, no.
Vincent's Chaos doesn't have a set multiplier, but it does allow him to easily overpower people like Azul, who previously had the upper hand. This suggests a multiplier greater than 3-5 times, but obviously less than a whole 100, presumably. Even highballing it to a 1000x multiplier, Ark Knives' hundred thousand to millions power increase dwarfed it. And Vash could close the gap between Ark Knives and himself in a instant.
Considering this, surprisingly Vash would upscale Universal more than Vincent, even with his limit breaks. That's certainly something that surprises me, I thought Vash would be left behind at first.
Arguably, this specific power stat in their main canons goes to ...Vash?
But that isn't all they have, in fact, you can get both to astronomically higher limits than just their main keys. Introducing;
Stampede VS Dissidia
Now to pull out their highest ends, Final Fantasy Dissidia, and suprisingly, Trigun Stampede/Stargaze.
Using both these arguments, in short, both got up to 5D using these specific arguments, both using higher-dimensional properties of incomprehensible planes... yeah.
As much as I'd think this section would be longer and harder to explain, in short, both are pretty much dead even at their peaks.
Power is a overall Tie.
Abilities
Now onto abilities.
Now, as we've covered, Plants are pretty fucking busted. Even moreso than you would first think. However, even in the face of that, Vincent's Materia was still fucking busted. He could do a lot of the same things and maybe even more.
Things like Stop and Ice magic could easily pin Vash in position for some big damage, and he has things like his Summons, which can take Vash into a alternate dimension while he could do stuff like heal as Vash dealt with that.
And while Vash's regeneration was technically superior, Vincent likely had the capabilities to spam his more often.
I actually wouldn't be surprised if Vincent's abilities just overwhelmed Vash in some scenarios, due to things like transmutation and stuff.
Abilities is a decently clear dub for Vincent.
Skill
Now for skill. This one's kind of in Vash's favor already.
Both are much older than they seem, but while Vincent's only 60, Vash is 150 at least. He's been doing his thing longer than Vincent has lived. Not to mention living in a coffin for nearly 30 of those years you've lived doesn't do much for Vincent. So Vash is more experienced.
However, their gunmanship when it came to accuracy was actually about equal. Vash is more likely to win the lottery than miss while locked in and Vincent has 250% accuracy, but Vash has been shown to deduce opponents and their techniques, and boy has he fought a number of confusing opponents. He thinks more creatively than just accuracy.
Plus he's probably more intelligent, making possibly uncountable calculations in a very short timeframe, while we've never seen Vincent do much of the same.
Endurance
Now for their endurance. Vincent and Vash both have some superhuman stamina, as shown how they can fight on for hours on end and in taxing scenarios.
However, the thing that nets Vincent the edge here is the fact that numerous of his tools can not only bring back stamina to himself - something Vash can't do himself, but possibly wear Vash down faster, such as in the case of his sleep spells.
While Vash isn't a slacker, he cannot simply regain his Plant powers. Whenever he uses them, it's actually a limited supply that can't be replenished. While they can last for a long time, that's still a point that has to be addressed.
Vincent takes Endurance
OHKO Reliability
Now about their instant-kill abilities.
Both have powers than can allow the other to execute the other regardless of durability. Vash's Black Hole bullets and quantum manipulation as well as various of Vincent's items and spells.
The Death Penalty could also be a instant kill, but that depends on how leveled up it is, so that depends as a wincon here. In Dirge of Cerberus, it doesn't really oneshot enemies either.
While Vincent arguably had more, Vash's skill and superior intelligence could allow him to pull it off easier. However, there's actually one more factor that can determine how effective their durability negation could be.
And that is
Speed
Who could relatively pull it off faster was the key.
While Vincent is pretty damn fast, scaling to Sephiroth's meteor coming in at trillions of times faster than light, Vash was simply too fast.
Having bullets go out of measurable distance easily does apply for Infinite speeds, aka being infinitely faster than Vincent. While things like Stop could hard counter, in the original games it is actually chance-based in the original games, and in the remakes it's actually able to be halted while casting.
Considering the speed gap, it's unlikely Vash would just stand there and let it happen, and he has sort of dealt with Dominique's similar-but-not-really abilities too.
On the other hand, Vash can react and parry attacks from Knives, who should be comparable in speed with his attacks, sealing him as the faster one overall.
This meant that Vash takes speed, and considering he's faster, he can likely pull off his OHKO's faster and more effectively, so he gets that category too.
And that's our overall verdict!
Now, let's wrap this blog up!
Fight Script
By g, ignore the spelling mistake I beg you.
Yeah, me and g teamed up to make this, hopefully you enjoy it!
Likely cannot use OHKO's before Vash's faster speed allows him to use his
Weaker at main canons suprisingly
Less skilled overall, and isn't as smart in battle as Vash
Bad with technology lol
If only Zack found bro
The Deciding Tally

Special Thanks
I really want to thank g (Ricu), the biggest fan of this matchup, for deciding to help write and add stuff for it, as well as letting us use some of his art and thumbnails. He truly is our goat, and wrote the backgrounds for Vash and Vincent. He definetly hard carried too, because while Ichigo VS Yusuke was in production, he was the main person focusing on this blog, and it's genuinely hard for me to express my gratitude. Thanks, man.
Actually, as of writing this, he didn't just do the backgrounds, he practically did 75% of this while we were on Ichigo VS Yusuke... true chad. I can't put gratitiude into words, but thank you, again.
Next up, we have Hyper, who recently left the community, he isn't around anymore (he's still alive but we rarely see him unless it's a special occasion), and he really was a big friend of mine, and one of the reasons I made these blogs to start out with was because I kinda joked around with him and it came up. He's a really amazing person, and one of the coolest people I know. Stay reading, man.
Next, there's Blaze, who was there from the start. Was a big help through and through. He makes his own blogs, and I suggest you go and read them too. Here's the links to his blogs. He's definitely a loyal right-hand man in these blogs, and I help out in his own from time to time too. He's also a really nice guy to talk too, so yeah.
I know this sounds like this is the grand finale, but it ain't, chat.
Also, Outcome Memories died NOOOOOO. It has nothing to do with this, but still. If you couldn't tell by the "play my game" thing. I was a huge fan. Hopefully Bite By Night will cheer me up again. I genuinely loved the fucking game.

One thing's for sure, all souls go there, and they all aren't good. But they all aren't bad, so you gotta look at the bright side and pray that someone comes to extinguish your demons, so who will it be? Vegito, Goku and Vegeta's ultimate fusion, formed by the two Potara. Pneuma , Pyra and Mythra's true self, come together as the Aegis. There's always a answer to a question, a solution to the problem. Sometimes, there's just that one problem that can't be solved alone; maybe if you and someone else joined your efforts, nothing could stop your dynamics. That's certainly a cliche, but it's not really wrong. In the end, it's the power of teamwork and friendship that just gets it done, not the solitary efforts of one soul. Today, these two combatants take these concepts to a new level; literally fusing together from two souls, into one, stronger soul. Today, will the Potara wielding-fusion triumph in a blaze of glory, or will the Aegis shine bright enough to snuff out their own victory? Before we Begin...
